RECORDING

With over 20 years of experience, I use a variety of techniques to capture artists' sounds as accurately as possible. I always encourage artists to trust their instincts and commit to their sounds and takes, rather than relying on computer-based effects and enhancements later on. That said, I maintain an open mind and flexibility with digital tools, recognizing that some of them offer unique capabilities that don’t have real-world equivalents.

PRODUCTION

My goal is to make my clients feel at home and comfortable in my studio. I focus on the big picture and keep sessions moving forward with positive energy. I enjoy working with the dynamics within a song while maintaining a naturalistic approach to its presentation. Typically, I follow the artist's lead to honor their vision in a way that enhances the final result. Instead of defaulting to contemporary trends in music production, I consider the unique elements needed to ensure each record has a sound and identity true to the artist and their songs.

MIXING

Whether a project was recorded in a bedroom or a commercial studio, I give it my full attention and care. I primarily mix using an analog/digital hybrid method but also love mixing entirely in analog with my collection of hardware. I always assume the artist is happy with their work but reached out to me for a reason. Instead of overhauling your project, I follow the song and trust my intuition.

REAMPING

Amp simulators are becoming increasingly popular, and while they are convenient, I believe they can't compare to hardware amplifiers. Reamping, the process of playing a pre-recorded audio signal through an amplifier and re-recording it, allows for a richer, more authentic sound. My studio offers a wide variety of amps, cabinets, rooms, and recording equipment to enhance recordings through reamping.

MASTERING

When I receive files for mastering—the final process of fine-tuning audio to ensure it sounds its best across all playback systems—I assume the client is happy with their mixes. My goal is to ensure your mixes translate well on different playback systems and achieve the appropriate loudness.
